K Kids Dachshund Rescue Inc was incorporated on February 16, 2018 and was awarded its 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization status on May 2, 2018. 

MISSION STATEMENT:

Our mission is to focus our grassroots efforts on saving dachshunds and dachshund mixes in the state of Virginia and in nearby states, who need to be rescued from shelters or surrendering owners, regardless of age, size, gender, health, or other extenuating circumstances.

We will make every attempt to work on behavior modification if the dachshund is deemed capable of rehabilitation.

We will develop a close working relationship with shelters, veterinary offices and private individuals to make sure that no dachshund perishes whom we could have saved.

We will place each rescued dachshund in foster care, ensure appropriate veterinary care with special attention to any health issues, and evaluate them to determine which forever home is the best match.

We will make every effort through our website, social media and word of mouth to find the right forever home for each dachshund.

We will strive to keep dachshunds and dachshund mixes from ever entering a shelter or rescue system to begin with. We do this through owner education about common dachshund health and behavior issues, financial counseling about veterinary expenses, and estate planning in case the dachshund outlives their human.
