Hi! I’m Skippy! If you’d like to adopt me, go to Kkidsrescue.org to fill out an application. Skippy is located near Charottesville, VA. Preference will be given to loc adopters due to COVID-19. Adoption fee $275

Skippy is about 6 years old and ended up a K Kid when his owner (who only had him for a few months) was about to be evicted due to his barking.

Skippy’s foster mom sent us these tips about his perfect home:

NOT A LOT OF TIME ALONE. He really struggles with separation anxiety.

Loveslovesloves people and is good with kids.

Walks well on a leash, really likes to be a couch potato (we make him go on walks with us but he’d kind of prefer to stay home!)

Loves his squeaky toys so much and is super cute playing with them.

Has been learning that he cannot chase or snap at cats, but he’d prefer not to have them. He’d be fine with a cat or two if the cats are calm with dogs and he has a dog savvy owner who is competent in cat-dog relations.

Skippy has come a huge way in dealing with being part of a pack, but he’d probably rather be an only dog. He can be okay with other dogs but again, needs a dog savvy owner who can manage this. I think other dogs make him anxious. He’s really come a long way though

Finally, he seems to have some skin issues-maybe just seasonal allergies-so he needs fairly frequent baths or he bites at his paws and belly

Oh and he’s fully housetrained here, completely reliable. We’re feeding him in a crate but I don’t think he’d be good with being crated for any length of time. Retired people or someone who works from home (not just home now) would be ideal!!!
