Hi ! Im Zoey!  I’m a tiny dachshund with a tiny bit of chihuahua in me.  I’ve got longer legs than I should have (for a dachshund), and I’m so glad that I do!!  I can jump into foster mom’s lap more easily that way!! Oh, foster mom. She’s great. Foster dad is okay, but I much prefer foster mom.  In fact, foster dad says I cry and whimper and pace when foster mom is away. She says I have something called Separation Anxiety. She also says that she’s only ever seen a dog pull a blanket from the top of the crate inside the crate once before.  I then shredded it. Again, separation anxiety! You know how in Dirty Dancing Patrick Swayze says, “No one puts Baby in a corner?” Well, my motto is “No one puts Zoey in a crate.” Foster Mom says the crate is to keep me safe and work on something called housebreaking (you know how wet it’s been out there?  YOU go pee in the grass.) Moving on. Did I mention that I’m cuddly? Foster mom says I must have a “Horizontal Human Sensor”, because I can be fast asleep on a dog bed two rooms away, but the second Foster mom lies down, I shoot like a bullet to her and climb under the blanket. Oh yeah---we need to discuss sleeping arrangements.  I sleep with you, on you, under covers. End of discussion. I am not going to negotiate on this topic. I am also going to insist on being on your lap whenever you are sitting down. You’ll want me there. FM says I’m as soft as cashmere. What else? I like to eat. A lot. My forever family will have to be careful of my portions and my jumping.  Oh, and I like to play. I LOVE a good stuffed squeaker toy, and I like to play with other dogs. I’m okay with all dogs, even giant ones, but I’d prefer a little playmate closer to my size. And little people are great, too, but I’ll let them know with a growl if they have carried me around long enough. Oh, FM says I play a little too roughly with humans.  Sometimes when I’m really excited I will nip noses when I’m giving kisses. I wasn’t taught not to do that as a puppy, so I need someone to teach me not to do that now.
