UPDATE, and I'm sorry for "yelling", but Levi is NOT a dog for everyone, so read this first part carefully:
LEVI NEEDS A JOB. OR HE NEEDS AN EXTREMELY BUSY DOG CREW TO RUN WITH. HE WOULD ALSO LOVE TO BE A DOGGIE DAYCARE DOG. LEVI HAS ENDLESS ENERGY.
The thing is, that LEVI BARKS INCESSANTLY WHEN HE IS BORED, WHICH IS ANYTIME HE IS AWAKE AND NO ONE IS INTERACTING WITH HIM. HE ALSO CHEWS WHEN HE IS BORED, BUT MOSTLY HE JUST BARKS. HE BARKS AT PEOPLE, OTHER DOGS, THE WIND. NOTHING MAKES HIM STOP. DO YOU HAVE ANOTHER YOUNG DOG HE CAN RUN WITH ALL DAY EVERY DAY? DO YOU HAVE A FARM WHERE HE CAN HELP WITH CHORES ALL DAY EVERY DAY? DO YOU TAKE YOUR DOGS TO DOGGIE DAYCARE?
If you think you are up for a high-energy dude, please consider Levi. He is driving us insane. He is a lovely guy, but he's sort of like living with the Energizer Bunny who won't stop chugging espresso.
Oh---one other thing---Levi LOVES dudes. Women and kids are fine, but I think his ideal would be this: He'd love a younger farmer to hang with all day every day. That would be his dream. He'd ride in a tractor, ride in a truck, hang out while you fixed stuff, whatever. Ideally, he'd have another dog to play with while you were "ignoring him", but I think he'd be SO happy as a farm dog.
Levi
Levi is only 10 months old. He’s about 22 pounds. Levi was an owner surrender due to parvo. It turned out to be a milder case. The vet treated him, and Levi made his way to us! Levi is a doll baby. If you’ve ever wanted a pet fox, this might be your best chance without having to deal with special permits, etc (I don’t even know if you can own a fox in VA). Anyway, Levi’s a love. He’s all puppy. He wants to play, and he barks A LOT. He also loves to run around the fenced-in yard. He is housebroken. He loves to play, and he LOVES to cuddle. I would say Levi can go to a home with small children (he’s currently sleeping cuddled up with my daughter), and ideally another dog to play with. A fenced-in yard would be ideal, because this dude is busy. And please buy a neon jacket for him if he will ever be anywhere rural where someone might hunt—-I can totally see a hunter mistaking him for a fox if he’s out in a field or the woods.
I cannot put to words how great this dog’s personality is. Think of your All-American stereotypical dogs—-labs, Goldens, etc. That’s Levi. With a little basic training, this dog is going to make some family laugh and bring them so much joy for the next 15 years or so.
Levi can be a little iffy about new people---we can have a trainer come and show you how to introduce him to new people.
Levi is currently being fostered in Charlottesville, VA. His adoption fee is $350. Go to
